Academy of Training - Moodle Site Policy
To ensure that you have the opportunity to use this site for information, learning and development, it is import that you follow these 5 simple rules:-
- Use your own log in details - 'Authorised Access'
- Do not use inappropriate language or materials - 'Offensive Usage'
- Respect all persons using the system - 'The Right of Privacy'
- You are liable for your content - 'Your Responsibilities'
- Creation and usage of materials - Care! - 'The laws of Copyright'
Please note: Any student found to be in violation of any of the above rules will receive a warning and may be banned from using Moodle.
'Authorised Access'
Every student has a username and password that allows access to the AoT-Online Moodle site.
Under no circumstances should a student give their password to anybody else or attempt to log on as a different user or use a computer which is logged in as another user.
Any problems with logging into Moodle should be reported to the VLE Administrator.
'Offensive Usage'
By using AoT-Online discussion groups and notice boards you agree not to engage in any of the following acts:
- Post vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit or racially abusive material or adopt an inappropriate user name.
- Post any illegal material of any nature including text, graphics, video, audio or programs.
- Post any material including text, graphics, video, audio or programs with the intention of committing an illegal act.
- Post any material including text, graphics, video, audio or programs which may plagiarise or infringe on the rights of third parties.
You acknowledge that all discussion groups and notice boards are public communications and may be read by others without your knowledge.
Any contact or receipt of any message a user feels uncomfortable about should be reported to the VLE Administrator or the course tutor immediately.
'The Right of Privacy'
Users are expected to respect the right to privacy of others.
Users must not repost a message that was sent to them privately without permission of the person who sent the message.
Nor must users post private information about another person or post contact information (e.g. address, phone number) about any other person.
Any contact or receipt of any message a user feels uncomfortable about should be reported to the VLE Administrator or the course tutor immediately.
'Your Responsibilities'
By using AoT-Online discussion groups and notice boards you agree not to engage in any of the following acts:
- Upload files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer.
- Impersonate any person, body corporate or other form of organisation or institution.
- Do not use the forum and message facilities provided via Moodle unless they are directly relevant to your course or issues surrounding your course.
- Do not add any personal and private information that you would not wish others to see.
Academy of Training has no obligation to monitor the discussion groups and notice boards but reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation or legal process or refuse to post any information or materials, in whole or in part.

'The Laws of Copyright'
By using AoT-Online discussion groups and notice boards you agree not to engage in any of the following acts:
- Post any materials including text, graphics, video, audio or programs to which you do not own the copyright or other necessary consents to distribute electronically or distribute such material which is protected by intellectual property laws or by rights of privacy.
- Download any file posted by another user that you know, or reasonably ought to know, cannot be legally distributed in such a manner.
- Post or transmit any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or any form of solicitation or offer to sell any goods or services for any commercial purpose.
- Falsify or delete any author's contributions, legal or other notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or any other material contained in a file that is uploaded to the discussion groups and notice boards.
By posting messages, uploading files, inputting data or engaging in any other form of communication through the discussion groups and notice boards you are granting Academy of Training permission to use, modify, copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, reproduce, publish any such communication.
Any contact or receipt of any message a user feels uncomfortable about or material they are unsure about should be reported to the VLE Administrator or the course tutor immediately.
